TIL the Dung Beetle is the only known insect that uses the Milky Way as a reference to move in a straight line despite not being able to see individual stars. Scientists initially thought they were using the moon, however they still moved in a straight line on moonless nights.

My dad used to work as a mechanic in Arizona and he said that wild tarantulas would just wander into the shop and try and cuddle with the mechanics under the trucks. Spiders really dig car exhaust smell for some reason and they would be like “ah yes this human smells nice let me sit on your face while you’re working or perhaps climb into your pocket and see what you have” and the mechanics would keep shooing the spiders out but the spiders would follow them back like “No why would you leave me human friend??”
I love how half this site is all “AAAAAAAAAAAH SPIDER BURN THE WHOLE HOUSE DOWN!” and the other half is all “d’aww, what a cutie-pie.” Like no other creatures have this polarized of a reaction to them.

one of my ABSOLUTE favorite moth species out there has to be the madagascan sunset moth
its such a GORGEOUS moth that not a lot of people seem to know about and i just??? god what a beauty

I drew one of these for class once, and they’re really fun becuase you get to use all your neon colors and sparkly gel media for once. My professor described it as “It’s like Lisa Frank made a moth.”
