Oh man! I know it’s been some time but I just have to say it: I loved the latest upd8! I mean, look!
First of all we have Tavros preventing Gamzeecalypse simply by throwing him off the rage game right into love limbo and all thanks to got-brought-back-to-life-by-Terezi confidence!
Then we have Feferi, who decided that Green Sun is a great opportunity to have beach party and Gamzee happily complied, as always! Murderstuck completely avoided and all thanks to Terezi-and-John-bringing-back-Feferi-to-life-movement!
Of course, it’s not like it stopped srs pale GamKars from happening, I mean, why should it??? Karkat never stood a chance against Gamzee-not-being-bad-thanks-to-Terezi-thinking-it-out-properly!
And because Terezi-thought-Eridan-deserved-a-second-chance-cause-this-would-only-be-just, Eridan gets to shine as a quadrant and history nerd! Also, don’t you think it’s a perfect situation for Rose to learn how to auspisticize?
And man, it was obvious that Terezi was going to bring Nepeta back to life so she can finally bond with her non-F4C3T1OUSLY and wow, can you see this helping Nepeta bring shipping out of the shadows and getting over her Vantas crush at the same time???
Then, there’s Sollux. Welp, shit happens when you make blind dude stay around. Guess it’s no big deal since he didn’t mean to and without drama Rose might see it as a wake up call from fate.
Almost forgot about this one! Look how happy Gamzee seems to be, like for the first or second time in his life probably! And he is bonding with Kurloz! Yay, finally bonding with dancestors!
Oh man, and then there’s Equius utilizing his fi%ing skills and helping alphas with prototyping properly! Aren’t you glad Terezi and John brought Equius back to life since it’s not his fault society messed up his head and his death was a result of that?
Some more Equius knowing what is he doing (oh, and there’s Vriska’s head too, I wonder what’s up with that).
And then there’s like Fedorasprite (FedoraPipesprite anyone???) helping guide Jane to her Dad and Kanaya seeing herself having a makeover done in another timeline and wow, aren’t you glad Terezi brought back to life everyone whose death seemed to be UNJUST.
Cause imagine what if she brought back to life only one character and that character would act like if whatever it did actually fixed everything thanks to its overgrown ego and what if it would steal other’s characters plots and character development and possible outcomes and–
OH W8.
I resonate so much with the salt emanating from this post.
I’m such a strong believer in the theory that Mindfang brainwashed the Summoner into loving her because it makes way too much sense.
First off, look at their moral alignments. The Summoner was a revolutionary leader who wanted justice and equality for lowblood trolls, while Spinneret Mindfang was already shown treating at least one lowblood like shit (e.g. literally making the Dolorosa into her sex slave). Was the Summoner just okay with all that shit? How about Mindfang associating with Dualscar, who regularly murdered lusii and left lowblood trolls vulnerable to culling? Hell, how about most of Mindfang’s antics in general? Why was a symbol of rebellion and freedom so madly in love with one of the biggest enemies to lowbloods?
Second, the two of them supposedly had this hot steamy romance but then the Summoner just decides to kill her? Why? Was there any indicator that they had a falling-out before all that happened? But if you subscribe to the idea that the Summoner was subjected to mind control, subtle enough to make him think he really did love her, but then one day became lucid enough to see there was something very wrong and finally decided to kill his abuser in self-defense, it actually seems totally logical.
Third, the way this reflects on their descendants only further proves it. Vriska, in her desperate attempt to emulate her “way cool ancestor Mindfang,” tried to force a relationship with Tavros, who was frankly incompatible with her on almost every level. Every aspect of her relationship was about controlling Tavros and trying to force a flushed romance between them, when her natural tendency was to black feelings (that were entirely one-sided). If we consider the epic romance she tried to emulate was already based on lies, abuse, and manipulation, then it’s no wonder Vriska got the same result with Tavros!
So anyway, there’s my Homestuck conspiracy theory. That Marquis Spinneret Mindfang brainwashed The Summoner into loving her, and he killed her in self-defense the moment he realized what was really going on.
We could’ve seen Nepeta be a cute little badass warrior who bonds with the kids and develops some cute relationships with them.
We could’ve seen Equius grow out of his bigoted upbringing and recognize the caste system was bullshit and at least be a bit less of an ass, with Nepeta helping in that.
We could’ve seen Eridan atone for everything he’s done and do everything he could to make amends with everyone he’s hurt, admitting he was just lonely and scared and worried that he wouldn’t matter once his quadrants and the caste system disappeared.
We could’ve seen Feferi look at Beforus and how her new empire would’ve really affected the troll’s culture, and decide that instead of her benevolent prejudice she would learn to work toward actual equality among the trolls. We could’ve also seen her interact with her Dancestor and the stark contrast in their respective personalities, while seeing her have an intense battle against the Condesce.
We could’ve seen Tavros actually become confident or fully realize he always had a sense of self-worth all along (he’s literally never apologized for liking fairies or FLARPing or bad freeform rap, I think that says a lot), watch him actually heal from the abuse Vriska put him through instead of develop Stockholm Syndrome and continue to be shat on by her or get turned into a being that’s forever triggering his allergies.
We could’ve seen Karkat actually succeed as a leader, unite the trolls and overcome his insecurities about his mutant blood color.
