alphys plz

So there’s this scenario that me and @robynred bat around sometimes that we generally call Captured Alphys, where Alphys discovers the brothers, but Gaster catches her before she can tell anyone what she saw. He can’t let her go, but he doesn’t want to hurt her either, so instead he just ends up locking her up with the brothers. She proceeds to give him an extremely hard time about everything he’s doing, haha. And she becomes something like a lizard auntie to the brothers. If you think about it too hard a whole lot of plot problems show up though…

Asgore’s already seen Sans try to look out for Papyrus, but he wanted to give him this peptalk of sorts because he’s seen before how talking about his low health gets him down (which in itself is residual damage from before), and he wanted to re-emphasize that Sans’s strength or value isn’t determined by his health. Sans thinks about this responsibility a lot from this point on.

We saw a similar SOUL silhouette before with Sans, and now we can see both the brothers! Both their SOULs are unusual. Papyrus wanted to wear something grown-up and mature for heading out on their own, which is something he associates with dark sweaters, for some reason…

Asgore waited until they were both out of sight before going into his empty house to weep quietly, one assumes.

Ayee Gaster is back Ya’ll. I really had a lot of experimenting with this one since I had never done transparent fabric before. I wanted to capture that emotion of accomplishment when Gaster realized he had created life in a way, but then the cold realization of what that would mean for his new creation. Its an idea I’ve had for a very long time, but I’ve never executed until now. I believed the transparent fabric would helpless he felt to what he had to do in that moment, much like the babies in the tubes.

This is based on @zarla-s AU, so go check that out of course.

Goatparents gotta goatparent. Gaster was on the verge of cracking through the whole conversation, but it was the physical contact that finally broke him. He was really not used to that kind of thing at all.
Little does Asgore know that the first skeleton is the reason the second skeleton is so traumatized about blue magic, haha. It’s a vicious circle!

Toriel is describing the process of gaining LV here, though she doesn’t conceptualize it like that. This would become the seed for Gaster’s eventual theories and beliefs about LV.

Sans perked up at Asgore calling his brother brave – he doesn’t remember why now, but for some reason it’s important to him.
