So, while drawing up the previous ASK stuff, this somehow turned into a full blown comic. (Also, I forgot that Asriel DID in fact have some merch in the form of a couple of stickers. Oops.) Anyway, enjoy!
while Posting Art™ i realized i havent thrown these out here yet –
theyre old and my design for nearly everyone has changed a bit but
listen, skeleton hugs are important and no one can tell me that sans
isnt perfect for a good squeeze if ur feelin’ down.
An Asgore redemption story. Or rather, Asgore finally has enough of Toriel treating him like garbage once the barrier is broken and confronts her about it. He admits his wrong doings, his faults, all the horrible things he’s done, and yet all of that somehow overshadows all the good too? All he’s done to keep their entire race alive and hopeful while she ran off and hid because she didn’t like his decisions, abandoning her entire kingdom rather than talking it out or discussing it?
He understands that she needed time alone after what happened, but how many decades did she need?? In the end who was the one who handled the problem worse?
At least he stayed and kept up his responsibilities. What did she do?
… The argument ends in a lot of tears. But maybe Toriel starts to see that she was wrong in how she handled the whole situation. That’s not to sat Asgore handled it perfectly, they’re both flawed individuals, but maybe after some time to think they can be civil with one another again at the very least.
…
I have so many emotions about Asgore finally having enough of Toriel’s shit.
Goatparents gotta goatparent. Gaster was on the verge of cracking through the whole conversation, but it was the physical contact that finally broke him. He was really not used to that kind of thing at all.
Little does Asgore know that the first skeleton is the reason the second skeleton is so traumatized about blue magic, haha. It’s a vicious circle!
Toriel is describing the process of gaining LV here, though she doesn’t conceptualize it like that. This would become the seed for Gaster’s eventual theories and beliefs about LV.
Sans perked up at Asgore calling his brother brave – he doesn’t remember why now, but for some reason it’s important to him.
Someone wanted more of younger Gaster with the goatparents, which seemed like a good opportunity to come back to an older idea I never got around to cleaning up, haha. I was actually tempted to make this an actual flashback but then it runs into that same tricky problem of not being able to see his face when him glowing is the whole point and yada yada yada
