Father/Daughter Friendship

Please click pics for bigger versions and captions.

I love the father/daughter friendship between Undyne and Asgore. It’s so sweet!

How hotheaded of a kid was she, though? I went with Amethyst-level rage from On the Run, because I adore that scene so much and wanted to draw them in Pearl and Amethyst poses. Plus, hugs. Always room for hugs!

[cue Hardest Part of Love]

Asgore’s already seen Sans try to look out for Papyrus, but he wanted to give him this peptalk of sorts because he’s seen before how talking about his low health gets him down (which in itself is residual damage from before), and he wanted to re-emphasize that Sans’s strength or value isn’t determined by his health. Sans thinks about this responsibility a lot from this point on.

We saw a similar SOUL silhouette before with Sans, and now we can see both the brothers! Both their SOULs are unusual. Papyrus wanted to wear something grown-up and mature for heading out on their own, which is something he associates with dark sweaters, for some reason…

Asgore waited until they were both out of sight before going into his empty house to weep quietly, one assumes.

Prove Me Wrong

askullandbones:

An Asgore redemption story. Or rather, Asgore finally has enough of Toriel treating him like garbage once the barrier is broken and confronts her about it. He admits his wrong doings, his faults, all the horrible things he’s done, and yet all of that somehow overshadows all the good too? All he’s done to keep their entire race alive and hopeful while she ran off and hid because she didn’t like his decisions, abandoning her entire kingdom rather than talking it out or discussing it?

He understands that she needed time alone after what happened, but how many decades did she need?? In the end who was the one who handled the problem worse?

At least he stayed and kept up his responsibilities. What did she do?

… The argument ends in a lot of tears. But maybe Toriel starts to see that she was wrong in how she handled the whole situation. That’s not to sat Asgore handled it perfectly, they’re both flawed individuals, but maybe after some time to think they can be civil with one another again at the very least.

I have so many emotions about Asgore finally having enough of Toriel’s shit.

Alright, this is the very very late Secret Santa gift for @it-refused! I planned to make this an illustrated fic, but the writing portion has gone very, very poorly, and you shouldn’t have to wait any longer than you already have. I hope you like it anyway!

For anyone confused: Asgore breaks his arm, and can’t carry the Absurdly Heavy Bag Of Infinite Gyftmas Cheer for Gyftmas, so Alphys builds Santatron at the last minute to take over Asgore’s duties as Santa for the holiday.

However, Santatron goes rogue and ends up rampaging through the city, leaving it up to Undyne to rescue everyone.

I loved working on this, I just couldn’t get the fic portion to write itself!
