Not sure what this has to do with abortion though.

I guess it’s addressing people who abort babies who have dawn’s syndrome or other birth defects

And still. That’s not really a problem with abortion.

it’s definitely the issue with abortion. the philosophy of being pro-choice demands that you believe that human life is not intrinsic, but dependent on their circumstances (i.e. unborn, disabled, undeveloped) and changeable.

say what you will, say abortion helped you, all the power to you. but to be pro-choice requires that some humans assign values to others, rather than all being equally valuable.

it’s the dependency on a mother’s resources and body that’s the issue, right? Because it violates her rights to autonomy, we have the right to destroy it. well, autonomy isn’t just bodily. autonomy can be financial. no one has a right to your money or your house or car. those things are yours, and that’s why stealing them is a crime.

should we be able to kill whatever violates my autonomy? a newborn child violates the autonomy of hospital and parental resources. it cannot exist independently. it is dependent in its nature. and since abortion advocates perceive some humans as less valuable due to their dependency on the resources of others, it should also be morally correct to terminate the life of a newborn child. because it violates the bodily and financial autonomy of the people around it, who must give their bodily labor and financial resources in order that it may survive.

i don’t think I am being dishonest here, am i? that’s the logical, most consistent conclusion of the pro-choice argument. unless you would like to clarify for me why you don’t care about financial and bodily autonomy unless it’s pertaining to abortion?

Can I also just include that there is a grave difference between some stranger trying to use something of yours by force and a human being who was forced to be dependent on you.

Obviously, someone coming into your house is an intruder, but if someone is in my house against their will (because of MY actions 99% of the time), then they are 100% completely innocent and deserve to be moved from a dependent state to an independent one peacefully. It isn’t their fault that they are there in the position they are in. And most of the time, it is honestly your fault. But regardless, the point is they are there against their will. They are innocent! To betray someone in that position is completely corrupt and an act of aggression because you are taking advantage of something completely innocent and vulnerable. An act of dominance against the innocent is always aggression. Not to mention that this human being is your own flesh and blood. Regardless of how bad you have it, you cannot be seen as equally vulnerable when you are the dominant person in that kind of a situation.

Abortion is an abuse of power and government is suppose to be there to end the abuse of power. Obviously not by eliminating power(that’s not possible nor is power inherently bad), but by balancing it all out so that no one is taken advantage of. Especially the vulnerable since they are at the biggest risk of abuse.

Exactly!
